Context and brief

TIMining Drillit es una herramienta usada por ingenieros QA/QC para controlar el proceso de perforación y tronadura. Se me pidió explorar mejoras en la interfaz para darle al software una presentación más cuidada y atractiva.

TIMining Drillit is a tool used by QA/QC engineers to monitor the drilling and blasting process. I was asked to explore interface improvements to give the software a more polished, more attractive presentation.

Qué hice

What I did

Identifiqué elementos visuales y funcionales que podían optimizarse corrigiendo incoherencias y aplicando principios básicos de diseño. Propuse reemplazar la vista de "Alertas" — que operaba como un simple interruptor — por un switch entre dos módulos: "Vigilancia" y "Dashboard". Junto al equipo, redefinimos y categorizamos la arquitectura de información de la zona de vistas.

I identified visual and functional elements that could be optimized by fixing inconsistencies and applying basic design principles. I proposed replacing the "Alerts" view — which worked as a simple toggle — with a switch between two modules: "Monitoring" and "Dashboard". Together with the team, we redefined and categorized the information architecture of the views section.

Result

La propuesta le da al sistema una apariencia más contemporánea y coherente, con jerarquía de información más clara, e incorpora información topográfica combinando KPIs con visualización 3D — sin alterar la estructura general del software.

The proposal gives the system a more contemporary, cohesive look, with a clearer information hierarchy, and incorporates topographic information by combining KPIs with 3D visualization — without altering the software's overall structure.
